The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) achieved his 100th position in the nine seasons he has spent in the premier class with his second place at the Australian Grand Prix, since he debuted in it in 2013.
Thus, the Phillip Island Circuit witnessed a new record for the eight-time world champion. Márquez reaches a hundred podiums in MotoGP, achieving 59 victories, 31 second places and 10 third places.
In 2014, his second year in the top category, it was the season in which the man from Cervera achieved the most victories -13 out of a possible 18- and Sachsenring, in Germany, is the track where the award-winning athlete has won the most times, with a full trumps (eight out of eight).
According to an infographic issued by Repsol, Márquez has managed to get on the podium in 70 percent of the races he has contested, that is, in 100 of 143. With these numbers, Márquez equals the Spanish motorcycling legend Ángel Nieto and enters being part of the ‘club of 100’, only surpassed by the Italian and nine-time world champion, Valentino Rossi (199), the Spanish and three-time MotoGP champion (2010, 2012 and 2015) Jorge Lorenzo (114) and the national rider Dani Pedrosa (112).
