Marc leads the Márquez podium and completes a perfect weekend

The one of Cervera, which also took the pole and the sprint, is strengthened in the leader after imposing himself in front of his brother Alex and Bagnaia

MADRID, 2 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish pilot Marc Márquez (Ducati) has completed his perfect weekend by also winning this Sunday MotoGP’s race of the Thailand Grand Prix, the first test of the Motorcycling World Cup, ahead of his brother Alex Márquez (Ducati) and the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), and thus strengthens his leadership of the queen category.

The octocampeon of the world, in his first Grand Prix dressed in red, well fulfilled the expectations to take the pole on a Saturday in which he also signed the victory in the race to the sprint. This Sunday, he completed his bet in a hard fight with his little brother to confirm his first place in the general of the championship, a position he took yesterday and in which he was not since November 17, 2019.

‘Pecco’ Bagnaia, Marc’s garage partner, completed a podium entirely Ducati, while the Italian Franco Morbidelli (Ducati), the Japanese Ai Ogura (Aprilia), the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia), the Frenchman Johann Zarco (Honda), the South African Brad Binder (KTM) Bastianini (KTM) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati) closed the ‘top 10’.

This Sunday in Buriram, where in 2019 he confirmed the achievement of his latest MotoGP title, Marc Márquez signed a perfect exit to escape from his brother and ‘Pecco’, which during the first Compasses engaged in a fight for the second place where Catalan came victorious.

However, a change of rhythm in the seventh turn, predictably to raise the pressure of its tires, served in tray the overtaking for Alex, which took control of the race. The Ducati Satellite sent while those of Burgundy Panigale elucidated what could have happened to its official motorcycle, some doubts that the octocampeon was responsible for clearing on Tour 23.

It was then, with only four turns ahead, when Marc found the hole to return to the leadership, which he would no longer leave until the passage flag. Meanwhile, his brother took a remarkable second place and Bagnaia completed the podium.

As for the rest of the Spaniards, Fermín Aldeguer (Ducati) finished thirteenth, while outside the points Maverick Viñales (KTM), sixteenth; Alex Rins (Yamaha), seventeenth; and Pedro Acosta (KTM), nineteenth after a fall. Neither Joan Mir (Honda) nor Raúl Fernández (Aprilia) managed to finish the race when they went to the ground.
