Marbella will host an ATP 250

Marbella (Málaga) will host a 250 category ATP circuit tennis tournament, which will become the third most important in Spain after the Madrid Master 1000 and the Barcelona ATP 500 Conde de Godó, advanced this Wednesday the Minister of Education and Sports of the Board, Javier Imbroda.

The ATP later confirmed the celebration of the tournament in the week of April 5, after the Miami Open and as a prelude to the traditional European soil season, before the 1,000 Monte Carlo Masters. The license is for one year and the name of the tournament, category 250, will be Anytech365 Andalucía Open.

Another 250 is also incorporated in Singapore at the conclusion of Australia. The Budapest tournament is moved to Serbia, the Houston one will not be held and the teams of Dubai and Acapulco grow to offer more opportunities to tennis players.

This tournament was held for the last time in Spain in Valencia and, according to the rectors of the Andalusian Ministry of Sports, it has been achieved in competition with major world capitals, including some from the USA.

Imbroda has stressed that eThis concession by the ATP is part of the designation of Andalusia as the first European Sports Region 2021, one of the most important achievements of his department and “a nomination that will undoubtedly contribute to consolidating the international prestige” of Andalusia “as one of the epicenters of European sport”.
