The Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation confirmed this Friday the team that will represent Spain this Saturday in the Longines EEF Series Nations Cup, which takes place at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid after a 14-year absence.
The Spanish quartet will be made up of Manuel Fernández Saro, Mariano Martínez Bastida, Santiago Núñez Riva and Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, in that order. In addition, Spain will take part in a contest that will start at 4:30 p.m.
The Longines EEF Nations Cup Series in Madrid will take place on the green track of the Club de Campo, a competition in which the Spaniards will play for a place in the semifinals of the competition.
First place will be “Acoufina”, the 10-year-old mare that Manuel Fernández Saro will compete in. After him, it will be the turn of Mariano Martínez Bastida and “Belano vd. Wijnhoeve”. Next, Santiago Núñez Riva and the 12-year-old Valentino de Hus will enter the action, as the team’s third rider.
In fourth and last place, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar will jump with “Full option vant Zand” the 11-year-old chestnut with which the Spanish participation in the test will close. The members of the team of Carolo López-Quesada and Alberto Honrubia will jump the fifth in a test in which ten countries will take part.
