Manuel, brother of Cari and Myriam Lapique, dies after a long illness

Tragedy has struck the Lapique. Barely six months after the death of Carlos Goyanes and his daughter, Caritaboth due to a cardiovascular accident, the family mourns a new loss: Manuel Lapiquebrother of Cari and Myriam Lapiquedied this Friday at the Ramón y Cajal hospital, where he had been admitted for days. About to turn 71, the businessman had been fighting an illness for months that, unfortunately, he has not been able to overcome.

The last time we saw Manuel publicly was, precisely, at the funeral of his niece, Caritina Goyanes, who died on August 26 of a massive heart attack, just two weeks after her father. His delicate state of health was then confirmed, but both he and his family were confident of his recovery thanks to medical treatment. A few days ago, Manuel suffered a deterioration and was admitted to the hospital, from where he was unable to leave alive.

Manuel Lapique was an industrial engineer and founded several companies dedicated to exports and real estate consulting. He was general director of the company Corpique, which his father created in 1952 with projects such as the urbanization and the Guadalmina Golf Hotel in Marbella, where the whole family spent their summers. Separated from Sofía Tassara, with whom he had a very good relationship, he was the father of two children, Manuel and Almudena, who was presented to society in 2018 at the Paris Debutante Ball.

Family and friends gathered this Friday afternoon at the La Paz de Tres Cantos Mortuary, in Madrid, to say their last goodbye, although the details of his funeral are unknown.
