Manolo Santana dies at 83

MADRID, 11 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Former Spanish tennis player Manolo Santana, winner of four ‘Grand Slam’ titles and pioneer and legend of Spanish tennis, has died this Saturday in Marbella (Málaga) at the age of 83, has confirmed the Mutua Madrid Open, of which he was honorary president .

During his career, Santana won two Roland Garros titles (1961 and 1964), one at Wimbledon (1966) and one US Open (1965), which make him one of the great Spanish tennis players in history.
