Mallorca draws at Mestalla before their Cup final and Arrasate smiles in Almería

The birthday boy Sergio Ramos gives the victory (0-1) to Sevilla in his visit to Getafe

MADRID, 30 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

RCD Mallorca tied (0-0) this Saturday in their visit to Valencia CF during matchday 30 of LaLiga EA Sports, the last before the Copa del Rey final, while CA Osasuna gave their coach Jagoba Arrasate a comfortable victory against UD Almería (0-3) and Sevilla FC beat Getafe CF (0-1), thanks to a goal from the birthday boy Sergio Ramos.

The Saturday round began at the Coliseum, where the only goal came in the 5th minute. Left back Marcos Acuña took a corner on the other side, Ilaix Moriba combed the ball into the small area instead of clearing it and Sergio Ramos appeared in the second stick, after having escaped from Omar Alderete, to subtly score that 0-1, ultimately definitive.

Two saves by goalkeeper Orjan Nyland encouraged the Sevilla team, which came close to second in the first half. It was after a header from Ramos himself, in a lateral foul also taken by Acuña, and in whose rebound Isaac Romero crashed a left-footed shot into the post. But after the break, the pace dropped and to make matters worse, there was a mishap from the stands towards Acuña.

According to the referee’s report, the match was stopped two and a half minutes after 68′ due to the racist insults received by the Argentine soccer player. With a rush in the final stretch, Getafe created danger; Jaime Mata asked for a penalty and then even scored, but both plays were annulled because he was offside both times.

This result gave Sevilla a margin with respect to the relegation zone, now adding 31 points, and left the blue team in the middle of the table, with 38 points and being ahead of Osasuna (39 pts.). Not in vain, the rojillos quickly resolved their match at the Power Horse Stadium. In the 2nd minute, Jose Arnaiz received a ball well unmarked inside the rival area and executed a right cross that beat Luís Maximiano.

When the 9th minute passed, Maximiano prevented a bad pass from a teammate from ending in a corner; Unintentionally, he gave the ball to Jon Moncayola and he assisted Ante Budimir low, who made it 0-2 into an empty net. The sentence came in the 61st minute, after a mistake by Marcos Peña in a clearance that favored a right-footed volley by Iker Muñoz. Osasunista joy towards his coach, who announced that he will leave on July 1.

GREIF AND MAMARDASHVILI, PROTAGONISTS IN MESTALLA

Finally, an entertaining Valencia vs Mallorca ended goalless. At half an hour, referee Miguel Ángel Ortiz Arias awarded a penalty in favor of the ‘che’ team for an alleged handball by Omar Mascarell, after a shot by Diego López; However, he amended his decision under consultation with the VAR.

After the break, Pepelu scored the goal with a direct free kick on the edge of the area and the vermilion goalkeeper, Dominik Greif, deflected it onto the post with a great dive. Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili also had a successful afternoon in a couple of difficult shots. In the meantime, Valencia’s Hugo Duro hit the crossbar with a header midway through the second half and everything was finally a draw.

The 0-0 at Mestalla meant that the locals remained in eighth place, with 41 points, and the visitors still remained close to relegation, with 31 points. In this context, Valencia has to play a pending match against Granada and Mallorca will face the final of the Copa del Rey on April 6, against Athletic Club, in La Cartuja.
