Mallorca and Sporting remain half in Son Moix

Mallorca and Sporting de Gijón drew goalless at Son Moix and did not reach any of the goals that they had proposed; neither the leadership for the vermilion, nor the position of direct promotion to which the Gijon team opted.

Luis García's team did not take advantage of Espanyol's defeat to catch the top of the standings, and the tables, second of the season at home, slow their climb to the first position.

Sporting has added a meritorious point in a difficult field, despite being presented up to six casualties in their ranks.

The Gijon team was better than their rival in the first half. Generated up to three times (mins. 2, 11 and 19) very clear goals, in a match that he always had under control.

The play was very clear starring Aitor García, who finished point-blank before a Manolo Reina providential for your team.

The vermilions were only able to get dangerously close to the goal of Mariño once (min. 4), but Mboula did not hit with the final auction.

Mallorca did not find in this period neither the game nor the clarity enough to hurt a very comfortable Sporting on the pitch.

In the second part, the local game was more incisive and, in some moments, he managed to get the visitors in his field.

That dominance, however, did not translate into clear scoring chances for the vermilion. Luis García moved the bench and they entered Murilo de Souza by Jordi Mboula and Aleix Febas by Salva Sevilla, who had a yellow card. In the final stretch, Alexandar Trajkosvki replaced Amath Ndiayé.

Sporting continued their business, although with less and less faith in the attack. In fact, Majorcan dominance was intense in the final stretch, but not enough to compromise the strong visiting defensive block.

Data sheet:

0 – Mallorca: Queen; Joan Sastre, Valjent, Raíllo, Cufré; Mboula (Murilo, min. 70), Ruiz de Galarreta, Salva Sevilla (Febas, min. 70), Antonio Sánchez; Dani Rodríguez, Amath (Trajkovski, min. 90)

0 – Sporting de Gijón: Mariño; Rosas, Babin, Borja, Saúl García, Fuego, Gragera; Díaz, Manu (Campos, min. 89), Aitor; Djurdjevic.
