Mallorca and Sevilla want to open their winning streak and calm the urgency

MADRID, 26 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

RCD Mallorca and Sevilla will meet this Tuesday (7:00 p.m.) at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix in a duel in which both will try to get their first victory of the season, after only getting one point in the first two league games.

The Bermellones fell in their visit to Osasuna at El Sadar by 1-0 in the last match after scraping together a valuable draw (1-1) in their debut at home against Real Madrid, a match in which they demonstrated their great competitive capacity, which they will want to show again against the Sevillian team, who arrive ‘touched’ after their defeat against Villarreal.

Jagoba Arrasate will be looking for his first win as the new Mallorcan coach and to confirm the good feelings he left behind in his debut, which were not continued on his return to Pamplona, where he was outclassed, especially in the second half. To do so, he will try to show his strength in front of his fans, where he earned 26 of his 40 points last year, including three against Sevilla, whom he beat 1-0.

The coach from Biscay confirmed in the preview that he will make rotations, including options in goal, to have greater freshness and intensity in a tough part of the season and with a third match in just a week. Cyle Larin, Antonio Sánchez, Manu Morlanes or Toni Lato could be some of the new additions.

Facing them, they are a rival in need of some joy to avoid the suffering of last season after also only taking one of the first six points, although last Friday they deserved more in the agonising defeat against Villarreal at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán (1-2) where they crashed into goalkeeper Diego Conde and were punished by a goal in the 95th minute by Ayoze Pérez.

And the goal from the Canary Islander, in addition to Arnaut Danjuma’s 0-1, showed that the main job of the new coach, Xavier García-Pimienta, is mainly to improve defensive solidity, something that already weighed down the Sevilla team last season.

They will have to do it as a visitor, last year’s Achilles heel, with only four wins and, after drawing at the Estadio Gran Canaria in the opening game, they have already gone four away games without a win, counting last year, which is more necessary on this occasion to recover as soon as possible what was lost and not get nervous.

The clash could be an opportunity to see more minutes for new arrivals such as Nigerians Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke, who have barely had any minutes in the first two games of the season, and who will try to bring freshness to Sevilla’s attack by giving rest to Lucas Ocampos and Dodi Lukébakio who are having a good start to the season.
