Málaga has reached an agreement with Cenk Gónen. The club will pay him a part of the 780,000 euros (plus 80,000 more for interest) in exchange for the Malaguista Turkish exporter withdrawing his complaint. In this way the FIFA will lift the punishment that prevented the Blue and White club from signing players for three windows, until summer 2023.
The lawsuit is still open and pending resolution by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS). At least Malaga will have permission to bring a footballer into this window pending the judgment. The punishment must be lifted in the next few days. And this point is important because the more than probable arrivals of Vadillo, on loan from Espanyol and Aleix Febas, from Mallorca, depend on it.
Cenk Gönen, whose sporting name is Cengo, signed for Málaga in the summer of 2017 within the framework of the exit operation decreed with Kameni after payment to Galatasaray of 200,000 euros. This Ottoman goalkeeper turned out to be a fiasco. In two seasons he only participated in four friendlies, all incomplete. Málaga has based its appeal on the fact that it was Cengo who rescinded the remaining year of his contract. The subject is fixed provisionally but not definitively.
