Málaga is positioned in favor of the agreement with CVC

Málaga is clear about its position regarding the agreement reached by Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, and the international investment fund CVC for the injection of 2,700 million to Spanish professional football clubs. This initiative, called LaLiga Impulso, has met with frontal opposition from the two great teams in the championship, Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, there are many clubs in favor of this agreement. Among them, Málaga. This was stated by its sports director, Manolo Gaspar, at the press conference presenting goalkeeper Dani Martín: “The position of the club is clearly in favor of this agreement, one hundred percent”.

Gaspar assures that he understands “those who are not in favor, but I think this will help to avoid a hemorrhage of players abroad and to keep them here. That we move the money between clubs, that it will serve us. We are at a time when clubs have been greatly affected by the pandemic and mismanagement and they need that oxygen to register players and remain competitive”.

This Thursday, therefore, Málaga will vote in favor at the LaLiga assembly. If the agreement goes ahead and the club receives those 40 million that the union with CVC would report. In the short term, it would be a huge oxygen balloon for the club. “The scenery would change a lot. We came from having the lowest limit and we were going to continue to be one of the lowest. Málaga has an important history behind it, which has been worked hard and in that aspect it benefits. All the clubs are going to have that momentum and the scene is going to change for all of them, ”added Manolo Gaspar.

The sports director also referred to the sporting situation of Málaga and pointed out the current needs of the squad: “With the current photo of the squad it is clear, we need to reinforce the upper part, put a little powder. We are working towards that, there are 20 days left, we hope to be well positioned when the time comes ”.

Can there be departures between now and August 31? Manolo Gaspar responds: “We are working on that, we are in the final stage of planning and anything can happen in these 20 days. The doors are not closed neither for exits nor for entrances”.

The tremendous problems that the La Rosaleda club has had to overcome these last two seasons have placed it in a much less traumatic situation than that experienced by other clubs. “We are not buoyant but we do have a clear outlook and a specific direction, also knowing that we are very limited”, acknowledges the sports director.
