Malaga, delighted with Haaland: “He is the man of the moment”

The incomparable Thyssen Museum in Malaga was the ideal setting for the formal presentation of the Norway-Turkey match on Saturday 27 where the Scandinavian team will play at home. A launch where the hook of Erling Haaland, the star of the moment, was highlighted to expand the image of the Costa del Sol beyond our borders.

The turn of interventions began with Andrés Roldán, managing director of Marbella Football Center, the facility where the Nordic team has been shielded and that last year hosted no less than 256 teams. A place of authentic reference. “This means the consolidation of the Costa del Sol as a sports destination. Norway has put us to the test because they want to go to the World Cup ”. He recalled that La Rosaleda had not hosted a match valid for a World Cup since 1982 when Scotland-New Zealand was played. “This is an established soccer destination. Haaland helps us transmit our Costa del Sol brand”.

Turn to Francisco De la Torre, mayor of the city. “For Malaga it is a very interesting promotional opportunity. The weather accompanies. I hope it is a success. Norway plays at home ”.

Rune Pedersen is the coordinator of the Norwegian team. Former soccer referee and former vice president of his country's federation, the manager was “happy to be in Malaga.”

During this day, some words were projected by video of the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales. “La Rosaleda will have more international projection,” he commented. Rubiales will not be able to be present in this match.

Noelia Losada, the Councilor for Sports of the City Council Malaga man thanked Norway “for having noticed the Costa del Sol”. And he recalled that Malaga will continue to be the European Capital of Sports until June. And he referred to the Norwegian star as another hook to expand the Malaga signal throughout the world. “Halland is going to be the sensation. Is the man of the moment”.

José María Arrabal, Secretary General of Sports of the Junta de Andalucía, remained in this same line. “As the Málaga anthem says, La Rosaleda is an international field. This event will generate a lot of value for Malaga ”.

After the family photo of rigor the act was closed. Everyone regretted that such a great game had to be behind closed doors because of the pandemic. Better times will come.
