Málaga advances through the midfield waiting for the FIFA ‘pardon’

Malaga has several decisive fronts open these days. While in the offices they fight for FIFA to take into account their allegations on the Gönen case and lift the punishment of three market windows without being able to make signings, Manolo Gaspar and his work team multiply the hours in La Cueva in search of options for interesting market that raise the level of the workforce.

The sports director has a good handful of open conversations but in recent days he has made progress especially in the contacts to incorporate a midfielder. The priority at the moment is Aleix Febas (22-2-1995, Lleida), who has hardly played with Mallorca so far this season and is very much to Gaspar’s taste. ON noted the interest and AS has been able to confirm that at the moment it is the best placed option to reinforce the blue and white spinal cord.

The talks have been going on for days and the footballer is about to make a stop at La Rosaleda. Relations with Mallorca are very good, an aspect that also works in Malaga’s favor. However, the Martiricos club will have to deal with important rivals in the bid for the offensive midfielder raised in the Real Madrid quarry. Huesca and Valladolid are two of the teams that have shown a firm interest in Febas, who is also closely followed by Tenerife (Ramis had him at his command at Albacete, which was close to rising several seasons ago).

Febas is the closest option, but the Blue and White sports management also does not lose sight of Fran Mérida, another player who perfectly fits the profile sought by the club. This operation is more complex and difficult due to the high salary of the player (over a million). Mérida ends his contract with Espanyol in June and Málaga is willing to exhaust the options and could even consider offering him another year of contract to try to convince the player.

Negotiations for Febas and Mérida are independent and are not incompatible. Therefore, in the event of a successful conclusion, Málaga would not even rule out the incorporation of both as long as they both fit into the economic parameters managed by the entity.

In recent days, in addition, Iván Martín has been linked with Málaga, currently in Alavés and also looking for an outlet in the winter market. This option, a priori, has fewer options, although it is also one of the names on Manolo Gaspar’s agenda.
