The other flagship of the family was the restaurant La Cañada de Boadilla del Monte, Founded in 1970. More than 50 years as a gastronomic benchmark in the area. The restaurant was managed in its day by the tennis player’s father and uncle, José and Fernando, until their children, mainly Marcos and Laura, took over. Now the business has disappeared after half a century offering one of the best stews in Madrid.

“The whole family has grown up between stoves because we lived in the restaurant La Cañada, in Boadilla del Monte, where we have always specialized in stew. It is a farm that has several houses and also my family’s restaurant. We lived in one and in another, my cousins, so yes, the Verdascos have all grown up together around the restaurant. Now I am still connected because I supervise the communication and management of La Bola, La Rayúa, La Cañada and Café de Chinitas,” he said.
