Madrid donates €1M to Ukraine

The Real Madridas part of the campaign “All with Ukraine”launched on March 5 by the Real Madrid Foundation, has decided donate one million euros to help alleviate the needs of the population. In Ukraine, the Foundation works closely with leading international NGOs. This donation, specifically, will go directly to Red Cross, UNHCR and three other entitieswith emergency projects on the ground. Likewise, to contribute to the reception of refugees in Spain, 13,000 items of clothing and sports equipment have been donated to the Red Cross and Cesal NGO centers in Madrid. The five NGOs are as follows.

Red Cross

It has deployed a colossal human team on the borders of Ukraine. It works in close coordination with the National Societies of the region and focuses its support on integrated care and psychosocial supportwith the city of Chernivtsiin addition to contributing to the delivery of necessities. In Spain, the Red Cross attends in its primary care centers the first refugees to arrive from Ukraine for whom the Real Madrid Foundation has donated sports and recreational equipment for minors.

UNHCR

is delivering blankets, sleeping mats and other essential items on Kryvyi Rig, in central Ukraine, where more than 700 Ukrainians have arrived in recent days. They are also monitoring the emergency on Ukraine’s borders with Poland, Romania, Moldova and Hungary; and speaking with the authorities of each country to respond and provide support in the reception of refugees in these neighboring countries.

Salesian Missions

They welcome in their facilities minors, women and the elderly that, due to the bombing, in many areas of the east, north and south of the country, they lack fuel and have no electricity or heatingso it is caring for displaced Ukrainians in its centers of (Lviv) Novosilka, kyiv, Dnipro: Bibrka, Peremyshlyany, Zhytomyr, Korostyshiv and Odessa. Meanwhile, from outside Ukraine, they care for refugees in Poland and Slovakia.

Census NGO

is working on emergency support vulnerable families and internally displaced persons to the area of Leopolis and the Polish border. On the other side of the borders, work is being done in Poland in collaboration with more associations, collecting and buying medicines. On the border between Ukraine and Romania, in Siret, Cesal works in the food collection and distribution. In Spain, the Real Madrid Foundation has donated a convoy of more than 13,000 garments of warm and sports clothing for primary care of refugees arriving from Ukraine.

Epicentr For Children

It is the NGO with which, since 2018, the Real Madrid Foundation has worked in seven social sports schools in the cities of Ternopil, Irpin, Khmelnitsky and kyiv, in Ukraine, with 800 beneficiaries. You will receive part of the campaign funds to collaborate with the food collection and distribution and the coordination of personnel to help organize logistics from the evacuation zones to the border with Poland.

“All with Ukraine”

The bell “All with Ukraine”of the Real Madrid Foundation, will remain open as long as necessary to facilitate a direct donation channel that contributes to alleviating the needs of the displaced population both in Ukraine such as in bordering countries or in the refugee reception in Spain.
