This has been a difficult year for Madonna. The 65-year-old singer had to be hospitalized last June due to a bacterial infection and, to this day, she is still not fully recovered. She spoke about it during the concert she gave this weekend in Belgium, where she, through tears, expressed that it was a “miracle” that she was still alive.
“Less than four months ago I was in the hospital, unconscious, and people thought that maybe I wouldn’t survive. It’s a fucking miracle that I’m here right now,” he told the interpreter at his performance at the Sportpaleis in Merksem.
The artist remembered her mother, who died when Madonna was just a child. “My mother, God bless her, must be watching over me, she told me: ‘Girl, it’s not your time to go,'” she said, excited, before an audience that listened to her attentively, amidst applause and shouts of affection. .
“They gave me another chance, so I am very grateful for that. I must tell you that I don’t feel very good now, but I can’t complain, because I’m alive. Thank God for my children and for all their love and support,” she said.
no way, i can’t, it’s too emotional. @madonna teared up talking about her second chance in life, unlike her mother, after performing “mother and father” tonight, despite not feeling well. i want to hug her so badly ? pic.twitter.com/w1zqp9xksX

Madonna also spoke about her illness at the concert she gave in London on October 15, an event in which she admitted that she is still fighting with the consequences left by the infection. Sometimes she has a hard time standing up, but she plans to continue with her tour.
The singer was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the New York hospital on June 24. Her entourage was in charge of reporting, some time later, on the progress of the singer, who went through episodes of vomiting and extreme fatigue.
At first, those around her believed that the singer had fallen ill, in part, due to the hard days of work prior to the tour. “Madonna has been rehearsing for weeks and dedicating 12-hour days to preparation,” they explained to Page Six.
However, another person in his circle assured TMZ that the singer “had been fighting a fever for a month,” but “didn’t go to the doctor because she was focused on her upcoming tour.”
