The Ukrainian footballer Andriy Lunin, goalkeeper of Real Madrid, has regretted his situation in the run-up to the Champions League final, the “most important” match of his life, isolated from his teammates and unable to prepare for the match against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium, where they seem further and further away from the eleven.
“I am very sad not to be able to prepare the most important game of the season and the most important in my life together with the team. Thank you all very much for your support and encouragement. Let’s go for the 15th,” Lunin wrote this Thursday from his account from Instagram.
Real Madrid traveled to London for this final without Lunin who has been going through a flu process, which has also prevented him from training normally. Even preventing possible infections, the Ukrainian was isolated from the rest of the team and did not even travel to England with the squad.
Despite his great season, Lunin was by no means guaranteed to start in the Champions League final, due to the recovery of Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian seriously injured his knee in August and returned in time to pick up the pace and make his coach Carlo Ancelotti doubt, who confessed that he would fuel the debate until the final.
