Luis Suárez, Jorge Molina and Bacca: the goal that is yet to come

Granada has scored 16 goals so far this season. More than Athletic, Osasuna, Espanyol, Mallorca, Elche, Alavés, Cádiz, Getafe and Levante; the same as Mallorca and Villarreal. In that sense we can say that the team coached by Robert Moreno is in a middle zone within a League where the goal is not exactly abundant. The aforementioned 16 so many from Granada are distributed as follows. Four Luis Suárez; two Jorge Molina, Puertas and Germán and one Duarte, Machís, Arias, Rochina, Montoro and Milla. Ten footballers in total.

The forwards do not have many goals; four Luis Suarez, From Jorge Molina and Berry none. The top scorer at the moment is Benzema with 12 goals followed by Vinicius with 10. It shows that Cristiano and Messi are no longer there to open the gap.

Granada need their forwards to score goals one of those that give points. The two of Jorge Molina added a draw in Bilbao and another against Getafe. Two points. The four of Suárez helped in the victory in the City of Valencia against Levante (0-2) and was a point against Valencia, but they had no influence against Betis, Real Madrid, games that ended with defeat. Carlos Bacca is still missing. The two goals by Antonio Puertas (in the 0-3 against Levante and 2-1 against Alavés) have influenced Granada now having six more points)

Although it has Adrián Butzke, Granada does not rule out the possibility of incorporating a forward in the next winter market. But without financial follies and only if it significantly improves what is in the current squad.

Porta, El Arabi and Carlos Fernández

Looking back we find that Granada have had some notable scorers. Enrique Porta he won the Pichichi de Primera with his 20 goals scored in 1971-72. A figure not yet exceeded. El Arabi, who is the top scorer from Granada (44 goals in the league) scored 16 in 2015-15. Also noteworthy are the 10 targets hit by Carlos Fernández in 2019-20. Other significant scorers were Vicente, Barrios, Ighalo, or Rubén Rochina in his previous stage with the horizontal rojiblanca.

It is clear that Granada hopes that the aim of its main gunners will improve and especially that of Carlos Bacca, the player who came to fill the void left by Roberto Soldado when he left for Levante for 500,000 euros. But above all, a step ahead of Luis Suárez, who is the most expensive signing in the club’s history (he will end up paying close to 15 million euros) and who has only scored nine league goals in the two seasons he has been in Granada.
