At 57 years old, Luis Campos “becomes sports advisor to the president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, at the head of the first team,” according to information from the newspaper Le Parisien confirmed by L’Equipe and RMC Sport.
This appointment was expected since Leonardo’s unofficial departure, but taken on the night of May 21-22 after the last day of Ligue 1.
According to Le Parisien, Luis Campos “will be supported this summer by Antero Henrique”, who will return to the club after serving as PSG sports director between 2017 and 2019, during the transfer market.
Luis Campos has held the position of director of football at Monaco, where he assisted in the emergence of Kylian Mbappé, at Lille and currently works at Celta de Vigo.
Campos’ functions have not yet been defined taking into account that Leonardo held the position of sports director. One of his most urgent tasks will be to find a replacement for coach Mauricio Pochettino, who will not continue either.
These two will be the first movements of PSG within the revolution that will undertake this summer after getting the renewal of Mbappé.
