Lorenzo Brown: “I didn’t know what to expect but it’s been amazing to be part of La Familia”

MADRID, 12 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The base of the Spanish national team Lorenzo Brown recognized that for him it is being “incredible to be part of La Familia”, despite the fact that “he did not know what to expect” when he arrived, and added that his new teammates are “treating him great” and he is “learning” from them.

“It’s been amazing to be part of La Familia. The guys are treating me great, they’re very welcoming and fun. I didn’t know what to expect when I came here, so I’m very happy that everything is going well,” said Lorenzo Brown in an interview. with the media of the Spanish Basketball Federation.

For Brown, his time with the national team “on the track has been great”, because he is “learning”, although he says that he still “has a lot to learn”. “I’m ready for whatever comes in the future,” she assured.

He wanted to send a message to his new fans: “I promise to give you something, just stay tuned.” “I know my teammates care a lot about the national team and I care a lot about it too, so when the games come it’s going to be ‘lights, cameras and action,’ and I’m ready,” he explained.

For Lorenzo Brown, representing the Spanish team is “an incredible feeling” that he cannot describe. “It’s an honor to be here. I couldn’t say no to this opportunity when it came my way, I just wanted to be here and work,” he said.

Lorenzo Brown spoke about the captain of the national team, Rudy Fernández, whom he remembered using in video games. “He was in Portland and played with LaMarcus Aldridge and company. I remember that he used to shoot 3-pointers, he was a great shooter. Now what I can say about him is that he is a great teammate and a leader,” he said. .

Another player he coincided with is Ricky Rubio, one of the great absentees due to injury at Eurobasket 2022. “When the Timberwolves drafted me for the NBA, Rubio was there and what I knew from my college years was that he was a great talent,” he said.

Brown was captivated by “a 16-year-old boy who was playing with the national team in the Olympic Games”, beginning there his admiration for Rubio. “I was thinking ‘wow, this guy really knows how to pass the ball.’ He was making passes without looking and I was impressed and trying to steal those resources from him, like the behind-the-back pass,” he acknowledged.

The base also related his personal story and how he started in basketball. “I was born in Rockford, Illinois, but I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I moved to Atlanta when I was eight years old and started playing basketball there. It was a family thing, my whole family played. It was a habit for me, I didn’t do anything else. thing, just basketball. It became irritating for my family, because everything I did was related to basketball,” he explained.

Regarding his tastes, Lorenzo Brown enjoys “playing bowling”, movies, series and is taking his first steps in the world of golf. “My free time is spent with my family, I love them to death, it’s my number one thing. I also love dogs, I would like to have at least two dogs, but with all the trips I have to do right now I can’t, they are my plans for the future,” he confessed.
