Lluís Cortés, new women's coach of Saudi Arabia

MADRID, 12 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced this Monday that Spanish coach Lluís Cortés will be its new women's coach after signing a contract until 2027 and starting his job next January.

In this way, Cortés will return to the bench of a national team after having coached the Ukrainian women's team for a year and a half, between February 2022 and August 2023, where she ended up after her time at FC Barcelona, ​​to which led to the historic conquest of the first Champions League in 2021. Now he will be in charge of coaching a team that is ranked 172 in the latest FIFA ranking.

“I thank the Saudi Football Federation for their trust in me and I am happy for this step in my career as a coach. The Saudi Arabian women's national team is a new team in the world of football, but they have great passion and that is which motivated me to accept this opportunity,” said the Catalan on the federation website.
