MADRID, 12 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced this Monday that Spanish coach Lluís Cortés will be its new women's coach after signing a contract until 2027 and starting his job next January.
In this way, Cortés will return to the bench of a national team after having coached the Ukrainian women's team for a year and a half, between February 2022 and August 2023, where she ended up after her time at FC Barcelona, to which led to the historic conquest of the first Champions League in 2021. Now he will be in charge of coaching a team that is ranked 172 in the latest FIFA ranking.
“I thank the Saudi Football Federation for their trust in me and I am happy for this step in my career as a coach. The Saudi Arabian women's national team is a new team in the world of football, but they have great passion and that is which motivated me to accept this opportunity,” said the Catalan on the federation website.
