The former coach of FC Barcelona feminine Lluís Cortéscurrent women’s coach Ukraineand his assistant and physical trainer Jordi Escura are already in the territory of Poland.
The outbreak of war caught them in Kievthe capital, and after an odyssey of more than a day and a half to reach Lviv, managed to cross the border and leave the Ukrainian country. Both narrated their odyssey live and Escura recounted the end of the journey in Ukrainian territory. “Crossed! An odyssey of train travel, 13 hours for 100kms, but at least we are already in Poland”, wrote an Escura who narrated the experience: “From Lviv to Przemysy, 100 km but a complete adventure. Long hours, full of people, standing around 8 hours in the middle of nowhere and waiting who knows what. We finally crossed the border and still waiting until we got home. I feel sorry for everyone we left behind.”
Cortés himself published the following message on Twitter: “We arrived at the Premyzir station (Poland). We are finally in a safe area after 55 hours since we left Kiev. It has been a hard night and without coverage to tell where we were going When I can, I will give you a chronicle of everything I have experienced in the last few hours”.
In the images published by Escura, you can see a train car, in which Cortés and Escura travel, filled to the brim with people fleeing the country. A wagon made up mostly of women and children since Ukrainian men are forced to stay to be called to the front to fight for their country.
