Lille win and look to Europe

Nice aggravated the Saint-Etienne crisis, who was relegated to the last position of the French League, after winning this Saturday by 0-3 in his visit to the field of the “verts”, in a meeting in which the young forward Amine gouiri, top scorer of the competition, was reunited with the goal after missing two penalties in the last two days.

Failures that did not undermine the confidence of Christophe Gaultier, the coach who led Lille to the league title last year in the French Under 21 international, who once again led the attack on Nice.

A bet that had its prize at fifteen minutes when Gouiri put Nice ahead (0-1) with a free-kick, who slipped into Saint-Etienne's goal after touching local midfielder Mahdi Camara.

A goal that allowed 21-year-old Amine Gouiri to become the new leader in the French championship scorers' ranking with a total of five goals, one more than Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappé.

The victory for Nice was rounded off by the Dutch Calvin Strengs, who made it 0-2 in the 54th minute, and the Algerian Andy Delort, who established the final 0-3 for the whole of the Côte d'Azur in the 83rd minute, who with his victory at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium he rose to provisional third place.

Lille looks to Europe

Five places further back in the standings, in eighth place, he placed Lille, Sevilla's rival in the group stage of the Champions League, who chained their second consecutive victory, after beating Strasbourg 1-2.

A double from the Canadian forward Jonathan David, which opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for the “doges” and doubled the visitor's advantage in the 57th minute by converting a penalty, made the subsequent reaction of Strasbourg sterile, which ended with ten players due to the expulsion of the midfielder in the 70th minute Adrien Thomasson.

Lyon save a point

Lyon, who managed to save a point at home (1-1) before the surprising Lorient, in a clash that was notably complicated for the Lyonnais with the expulsion at fifteen minutes of the Italian defender Emerson.

Numerical superiority than Lorient, fourth classified, did not miss to get ahead at 20 minutes on the scoreboard (0-1) with a free-kick from Armand Lauriente.

A goal to which the Dutchman Peter Bosz responded in the second half with the goal of the former Villarreal player Karl Toko Ekambi, which established in 51 the final 1-1 draw for Lyon, who could take the victory in the extension time with a goal by Lucas Paqueta that did not rise to the scoreboard after the referee verified in the video images the illegal position of the Brazilian player.
