Levante assures that they have not refused to give up Óscar Duarte to their national team

The I raised has stepped out of the complaint presented by the Soccer Federation of Costa Rica against the Granota team for their refusal to give up Óscar Duarte for the next commitments of the ‘Tico’ team. According to the Federation, Levante used medical reasons to argue its refusal, but this Friday Duarte played the last minutes of Betis-Levante, which in the opinion of the Central American entity leaves the club in evidence.

In an official statement, Levante assures that it sent the Federation a report what “detailed the annoyances that the player suffered both in the heels and in the lumbar area, the latter aggravated after a blow received in the match against Valencia. This report included the treatment the player was receiving, the medical tests he had undergone and the recommendation that a competition rhythm could generate a possible aggravation of the injury ”.

The club assures that “At no time has he refused for the player to be summoned by his National Team ”and assures that this is a decision “adopted by the Costa Rican Federation”. Finally, the Granota entity reiterates “its commitment to collaborate with all its international players and with their respective national teams in order to achieve the greatest successes”.

The Costa Rican coach, Ronald González, said on Thursday, according to the EFE agency, that he did not summon Duarte because Levante reported that I was injured, but this Friday the footballer was in the call of his club and played a few minutes against the Betis.

“The Costa Rican Football Federation will send a protest letter to FIFA to report the performance of the Levante UD team, who presented a medical opinion on the player Óscar Duarte so that he is not on the FIFA date in March, but who used it this Friday in a match for the Spanish league, “the Federation said in a statement.

The entity assured that “this inconsistency is unacceptable“and that for that reason” he will raise the case before FIFA through an official protest, requesting that the evident contradiction in the actions of Levante be investigated and the sanctions provided to the teams that put obstacles to yield to their players in the commitments of selections within dates already established in the international calendar “.

The Federation explained that it sent the defender's call to Levante, but that earlier this week the team sent medical studies that showed injuries of the footballer in the heels and the back, before which finally the selector did not include it in the definitive list.

The medical opinion sent by Levante recommends that the footballer don't travel or play, as reported by Fedef Fútbol.
