Squatting, listening and talking about the day to day. Doña Letizia rolls up her white shirt sleeves, puts on her ponytail and the aid worker vest and connects with the people. She asks, she wants to know. She was with the neighbors of Villahermosa, the neighborhood of Cartagena de Indias, in Colombia, which she visited on Tuesday, June 13. It was one of the first outings of her solo co-op tour. The eighth since she is Queen.

His journey through the streets of this area of ​​Cartagena left us a photograph of closeness and proximity. Letizia is accompanied by the first Colombian lady, Verónica Alcocer. They were walking from door to door, talking, one by one, with all the women who came up to greet them. Some waved and others, like a girl, gave her a hug. The Queen really likes children and she connects very well with them. Thanks to the Water and Sanitation Cooperation Fund, the houses in this neighborhood have access to drinking water. The El Bosque Water Treatment Plant has provided this essential good to the 165,000 people who live in the area, some of the most vulnerable in the city.

In the afternoon, the first two ladies toured the facilities of the Escuela Taller de Cartagena de Indias.

Letizia was able to see the work of students in different fields such as carpentry, gardening, masonry, cooking, forging and painting. Late in the afternoon, the Queen and her hostess moved to the Baluarte de Santa Catalina. There, at the top of the monumental wall, they saw the restoration work of the workshop school.
