Lenovo Tenerife defeats champion and host Unicaja in the quarterfinals

MÁLAGA, February 16. (From the special envoy of EUROPA PRESS, Rodrigo Trascasa) –

Lenovo Tenerife defeated Unicaja (83-91) this Friday to leave the Copa del Rey 2024 in Malaga without a host and current champion, a tremendous blow on the table for the Canaries, who took revenge for the lost final last year and they met Barça in the semi-finals.

The last match in the quarterfinals brought the surprise that had occurred at the Martín Carpena in the other three games. Aaron Doornekamp (25 points), Kyle Guy (23), Gio Shermadini (17) and Marcelinho Huertas led the gold rebellion, which silenced the Malaga pavilion and left Ibon Navarro's team out of action.
