MADRID, 23 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
CD Leganés announced this Friday that it has secured the loan until the end of this 2024-2025 season of the 24-year-old Ecuadorian centre-back Jackson Gabriel Porozo Vernaza, who joins the Madrid team from French club Troyes.
According to the ‘pepinero’ club, their new signing has “extensive experience at international level despite his youth” and has already been familiar with European football since 2020 when he signed for Portuguese side Boavista, from which he moved to Troyes, with whom he would play 23 games in his debut in Ligue 1 in 22-23. However, the Ecuadorian defender would experience two loans last season, first at Greek side Olympiacos, with whom he played in the Europa League, and later, at Turkish side Kasimpasa.
At international level, Porozo was crowned champion of the South American Under-20 Championship with Ecuador before making his debut with the Absolute, with which he was at the last World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and was also called up for the last Copa América held this summer.
“Porozo, who is very tall, has good aerial skills and good ball handling, will join training this Friday under the orders of Borja Jiménez. He will wear the number ‘4’ and his presentation date will be announced in the next few days,” Leganés stressed.
