BERLIN, 9 Apr. (dpa/EP) –
The Monegasque Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) has asked his followers to respect his privacy and stop showing up at his house, after the details of his address in Monaco were made public.
Although he is more than willing to welcome his followers anywhere else, Leclerc is opposed to having them appear on his property. “Over the past few months, my home address has somehow been made public, causing people to gather under my apartment, ring my doorbell and ask for photos and autographs,” Leclerc wrote on Instagram.
“While I’m always happy to be there for you and really appreciate your support, please respect my privacy and refrain from coming to my house. I’ll make sure to stop for everyone when they see me on the streets or track, but I won’t come down. if they visit my house. Your support, both in person and on social media, means a lot to me, but there is a line that should not be crossed,” he continued.
Leclerc has suffered two DNFs in the first three races of the 2023 season and only has six points to his credit. In statements after the Australian Grand Prix last week, Leclerc acknowledged that he is experiencing a “frustrating” start to the World Cup. “It’s the worst start to the season of my life. It’s really frustrating,” he said.
