Lato: “We have yet to add two victories in a row”

The Valencia dressing room has gotten tired of taking one step forward and another backward. And so they have been all season at best. That is why since the match against Villarreal on Friday ended, even with the euphoria of the comeback in discount, the objective was set to repeat the triumph against Levante in the derby.

“We have the pending objective of adding two victories in a row. We need to take that step that we have not taken on other occasions. We are facing a good rival, but with the predisposition that the team has, I think it is time to achieve it, ”Lato said in statements to the club's website.

“We have to be regular. We lack regularity in the games and prolong what we are doing well like last weekend. This Friday we have a derby, it is a special match for the people here who feel that way and we are going for it, “he added.

The full-back said that Villarreal's was “an important victory” and that they want to “maintain the streak to finally win two games in a row.”

“When you win, things are seen with different eyes. I see the team with great enthusiasm, with confidence. We are a young team and we need more joys like this and I think we will be able to do it, ”he said.

“From the first moment of the season it has been seen that the team is dedication, it is fight… They are things that cannot be absent. There have been games that we have not done and the results are there. With that, we have a team to be able to win on Friday again. The team is psyched and we are a pineapple. There is a phenomenal group and I am very grateful to be part of it. We go with everything to by the derby ”, aimed.

Lato acknowledged that as a Valencian and Valencian player on Friday “is a very special game” and regretted not being able to play it with an audience in the stands. For him, it will also be his debut in a derby, in this case due to the sanction of José Luis Gayà.

“I have not had the luck to play against Levante in Primera yet. It's something I wanted to do and it's a special game for the family, for the city, for the fans… You have to enjoy it and go out with the maximum desire and the maximum enthusiasm ”, he highlighted.

“It will be a difficult match. They are coming off a loss but they have played great games. We have to try to take advantage of the opposing team's moments of weakness and continue our streak, which is now good, ”he remarked.
