Late into Monday night football, Trevor Lawrence suffered an ankle injury.

Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback for the Jaguars, looked to be in considerable pain late during Monday night football. Lawrence’s right leg was bent beneath Hendrickson as he went over top of him.

Lawrence was looking for a receiver with 5:25 left when Bengals edge rush Trey Hendrickson was blocked by left tackle Walker Little, who inadvertently stepped on him.

Little and Hendrickson helped Lawrence up till he realized he couldn’t walk by himself. He struck his hand against the turf and slammed his headgear down.

Brandon McManus was forced to attempt a field goal from 48 yards after Hendrickson’s 4-yard sack. The shot was wide to the right, tying the score at 28-28.

Due to an ankle injury, Lawrence had help from two athletic trainers in getting to the training room. The Jaguars have listed him as doubtful to return.

Walker Little, a tackle, trod on the right ankle of the former Clemson quarterback, further twisting his leg as he fell to the ground. After standing on the grass for a few moments at EverBank Stadium, he attempted to stand up.

In Monday night’s 34-31 ot loss to the Bengals, quarterback Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars sprained his ankle. According to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, Lawrence will have an MRI on Tuesday.

Following the game, coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence would have additional testing done on both days, but offered no other updates. Jacksonville was facing third down close to Cincinnati’s red zone when the event happened.

After the loss, Lawrence appeared to be able to stand it his ankle inside the locker room, but he was cautious not to walk or put weight on it, according to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe.

According to Wolfe, he was spotted updating his teammates on the injuries, and many of them appeared to be in high spirits after talking to him. Lawrence then left the locker room wearing a walking boot.

With 5:25 remaining in the final quarter and the score level at 28-28, Lawrence was hurt. Walker Little, Lawrence’s offensive lineman, stepped on him on a dropback, bending him awkwardly backward on the ground.

After Cincinnati had driven for a field goal, veteran substitute C.J. Beathard enter the game in relief and scored three points of his own to assist Cincinnati and force OT.

Beathard was unable to make use of the additional frame. A 26-yard drive by his Jaguars ended in a punt, and the Bengals marched down to a game-winning field goal by Evan McPherson.

Pederson responded, “We will see were Trevor’s at first,” when asked if he was certain Beathard would start going forward. “But hear us out: we have complete faith in C.J. He did a good enough job, after all, to get down the field and tie the football game.

It was not the field goal that would have won the game. However, I felt much more confident in C.J. He’s a seasoned athlete. We stand by and assist him if he happens to meet the guy since he has a lot more football experience.”

Walker Little, a Jaguars lineman, appears to have stepped on the quarterback’s ankle, prompting him to bend and show obvious discomfort before smashing his helmet to the ground.

Lawrence was helped to his feet by a Bengals defender and Zay Jones after he reached for his ankle right away. Lawrence attempted to hobble off the field, but he nearly collapsed back onto the ground in agony.
