Las Palmas wins a disputed Canarian derby

UD Las Palmas defeated CD Tenerife with a goal from Kirian, the only player from Tenerife in the game, and thus approached the desired promotion positions, slowing down the trajectory of his rival from Tenerife.

The expectations of both teams to win the three points in dispute were made clear almost from the opening whistle, since neither Tenerife nor Gran Canaria spared any effort in the incessant search for the two goals.

This intense game of one and the other produced a greater benefit to the local host, since the two clearest occasions opted for their side, but Elady (m.7) only under the sticks headed high a pass from Gallego, and later it was Shashou (m.20) who tried his luck with a tight shot, but ran into Raúl’s hand.

But this energetic first half hour of play was diluted with the passing of the minutes, when the yellows chose to exercise greater security in the movements of the ball, with a rival attentive to any error to assemble a quick attack, but both determinations no longer they threw no danger.

In the second half, the Gran Canaria dominated the game. Jesé (m.64) with a low shot, slightly crossed, put Soriano in serious trouble, but he reached out in time to clear the poisoned launch for a corner.

This supremacy and rigor in the visitors’ game culminated (m.73) in the best possible way for their colors. A distant kick from Kirian from the front slipped hopelessly into Soriano’s frame.
