UD Las Palmas prevailed (3-1) this Saturday against Tenerife on matchday 17 of LaLiga SmartBank, a light yellow derby to respond, in a direct promotion zone, to the triumph of leader Deportivo Alavés against Villarreal B (2 -0).
García Pimienta’s team took three points and something else in Gran Canaria, canceling out their neighbor and redoubling the enthusiasm of their fans. The derby started hot but little by little the dominance and prominence were yellow. Between Sergi and Marc Cardona, Alberto Moleiro and Jonathan Viera, Las Palmas generated a lot of danger.
Visiting goalkeeper Juan Soriano prevented a couple of goals but, when Tenerife seemed to have calmed the situation, Pejiño shot to make it 1-0. Moleiro continued his recital at the restart and the same for Pejiño who improved his first goal with another from further away (2-0).
