The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, asked his counterpart in LaLiga, Javier Tebas, to “refrain from making comments about the possible signings” of your club after this Tuesday he said that the Catalans have to “fill the pantry to be able to sign Lewandowski”.
“Faced with the statements by the president of LaLiga, saying that we cannot sign a player, I would like to remind you – with all due respect to the president of LaLiga – that their functions are to look after the interests of the League and the football clubs,” said Laporta in response to Tebas’ statements at the Europa Press Sports Breakfasts.
“I ask you to refrain from making comments about the possible signings of Barça because It is clearly harming the interests of FC Barcelona. And besides, I don’t know if he makes these statements voluntarily or involuntarily, but if he makes them voluntarily, it is a clear sign that he wants to harm the interests of FC Barcelona,” he added.
“And if he does them involuntarily, it is further proof of verbal incontinence and that desire for prominence that the president of LaLiga has and I think -with all due respect- that it doesn’t belong to him”, concluded Laporta.
