The president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, asked his counterpart in LaLiga, Javier Tebas, to “refrain from making comments about the possible signings” of his club after this Tuesday he said that the Catalans have to “fill the pantry to be able to sign Lewandowski”.
“Given the statements by the president of LaLiga, saying that we cannot sign a player, and I would like to remind you – with all due respect to the president of LaLiga – that his duties are to look after the interests of the League and the football clubs “, Laporta said in response to Tebas’ statements at the Europa Press Sports Breakfasts.
“I ask him to refrain from making comments about the possible signings of Barça because he is clearly harming the interests of FC Barcelona. And besides, I don’t know if he makes these statements voluntarily or involuntarily, but if he makes them voluntarily it is a clear sign that he wants harm the interests of FC Barcelona”, he added.
“And if he does them involuntarily, it is further proof of verbal incontinence and that desire for prominence that the president of LaLiga has and I think – with all due respect – that it does not correspond to him,” Laporta concluded.
