Laporta celebrates the agreement with Sixth Street and remembers Barça’s independence

After announcing the sale to the US fund Sixth Street of 10% of the TV rights of LaLiga for the next 25 years in exchange for €207.5 million, Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, celebrated the agreement, which will allow the club to generate a total capital gain of 267 million euros for the current season. “We are activating the economic levers and executing our patient, sustainable and efficient strategy to strengthen the Club’s financial base,” said the Barça president, who praised his new member and stressed the club’s independence: “Sixth Street He is a strong supporter of the world of football, an experienced investor in global sports and media, and a partner who will bring significant knowledge and resources while allowing us to independently manage our operations.”
