Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly will continue at Aston Martin and Alpine in 2025

MADRID, 27 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Canadian driver Lance Stroll and the Frenchman Pierre Gasly will continue in the 2025 season of the Formula 1 World Championship in Aston Martin and Alpine, after signing both multi-year contracts, as confirmed this Thursday by their teams.

“Aston Martin Aramco and Lance Stroll are delighted to confirm a contract extension that will allow Lance to compete in the new era of Formula One regulations and beyond,” the British team said in a statement.

He stressed that the North American “has played an important role in the project” since he joined the team in 2019, with which he has achieved three podiums. His renewal, after the one confirmed months ago by the Spanish Fernando Alonso, will make Aston Martin race in 2025 for the third consecutive campaign with the same lineup of drivers.

“I am very happy to have committed to staying with the team until 2025 and beyond. It is amazing to see how far we have come in the last five years; we have grown a lot as a team and there is still much more to look forward to,” Stroll celebrated.

For his part, Mike Krack, ‘Team Principal’ of the team, highlighted the Canadian’s “key role in the construction of this team.” “Your technical feedback from him, along with his committed work in the simulator, has helped contribute to the continued development of the car each season,” he warned.

“The consistency and stability of Lance and Fernando remaining with our team is a great platform to continue realizing our ambitions. We hope to create more incredible memories and achieve more successes together,” added the Luxembourger.

Alpine also confirmed Frenchman Pierre Gasly for next season, who has also signed for several years for a team he joined in 2023, with a third place in the Belgian Grand Prix Sprint and a third place in the Los Angeles Grand Prix. Netherlands.

“I feel at home in this great team. I enjoy being a real part of both the Formula 1 project and the broader vision of Alpine Cars. I have been officially here for over 18 months and it has always been the plan to build a long-term project with the team. Although it has been a challenging season on track so far, I remain loyal to the project and am not going anywhere,” said Gasly.

He was “happy with the changes made, the hard work and the direction the team is taking.” “There is a lot of potential in the personnel and resources of this team. I am excited for what is to come in the future and I am now focusing on the daily details that we are implementing to improve our performance,” he celebrated.

For his part, the team director, Bruno Famin, expressed his satisfaction with the Frenchman’s continuity, waiting to know who will occupy the other wheel since Esteban Ocon will not continue next year, a place that could be for the Spaniard. Carlos Sainz, still without a team for 2025.

“The extension of Pierre’s contract with the team is very satisfactory. He is a driver with enormous experience in Formula 1 and continues to demonstrate enormous potential on the track. While this is important for our future, we must be attentive to what is coming and that is focusing on improving our current package,” he explained.

Famin recalled that they have “big ambitions this season” and that they will work “tirelessly to achieve them.” “We will take our time to decide on Pierre’s teammate, we are excited about the options we have on the table,” he said.
