LaLiga trains 25 Brazilian coaches to promote grassroots football in schools

MADRID, 24 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga has completed the training of 25 Brazilian grassroots football coaches within the first edition of the ‘Qualify the Coach’ program that it has carried out during the month of April in the Rio de Janeiro country with the aim of promoting grassroots football in schools, according to a statement.

This training is part of the ‘LaLiga Football Schools’ project, launched in Brazil in 2022 by Bright Academy. A team of LaLiga coaches traveled to Brazil to participate in different theoretical and practical sessions to train coaches in the training concepts of the LaLiga Methodology.

The programming included five content modules, two theoretical-practical training sessions and three field training sessions. In addition, former players and project ambassadors Zé Roberto and César Sampaio participated.

LaLiga Football Schools Brazil, which started in 2022 in the country, is a project to integrate football in schools and educational centers as a tool for the comprehensive development and training of boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 17. The project already has six venues, distributed among the regions of Sao Paulo, Recife and Aracaju, with more than 550 players.

The centers affiliated with the LaLiga Football Schools program “maintain football within the academic curriculum or as an extracurricular activity”. In addition to Brazil, it is already taking place in Hong Kong, Vietnam and India, the first country to host the project and where, since its opening in 2018, more than 17,000 young footballers have already been trained.

“From LaLiga we have trained more than 22,000 local coaches in the LaLiga Methodology in different countries. These programs have laid the foundations to continue perfecting this type of training, including various educational experiences in Spain, in which the clubs participate and collaborate. The selection and training of the coaches is the basis on which we build the projects”, affirmed the person in charge of the technical and sports field of LaLiga Grassroots, Juan Florit.

For his part, the head of international development for LaLiga Grassroots, Javier Hernández, explained that “the central idea” of the project is the “comprehensive development of children using football as an educational tool”, as well as “promoting the level of coaches local”. “Brazil is a country where soccer is very strong, so there are many synergies and areas of collaboration that will make the project grow even more. The idea is to open four more venues in the short term,” he concluded.
