LaLiga Hypermotion kicks off with a full field of contenders ready to take on the fight

Cadiz, Granada and Almeria want to recover the recently lost category but there are many candidates for promotion

MADRID, 14 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga Hypermotion kicks off this Thursday with a Granada-Albacete match for the 2024/25 season that guarantees excitement until the end, as happens every year in a Silver Division where there can be more than a dozen teams with the mission of promotion.

It is difficult to leave many out of the running, in a very tough, long and highly competitive league. As newly relegated teams, Cádiz, Almería and the Granada team themselves undoubtedly intend not to stay in the Second Division for long.

The three teams will begin their journey with new coaches. Granada opted for Guillermo Abascal this summer, Cádiz for Paco López and Almería for Rubi. The yellow team will make its debut at home against Real Zaragoza, a historic team that has been trying to get out of the hole for some time, while the red-and-white team will start the season at El Sardinero against Racing.

On the other hand, Eibar has been a perennial contender to return to the elite and, since its debut against Castellón, it will try to find a new option. Last season, Real Oviedo came closer, although the Asturians were not expected to be in the fight. Now, they will be a rival to be taken into account, just like their neighbours Sporting, who will start at home against Levante.

The ‘granota’ team is another that can give battle and even, due to its history and trajectory, a Deportivo de la Coruña that returned to professional football this campaign four years later. The historic team from Riazor, champion of Spain in 2000 and two-time winner of the Copa del Rey, will face Oviedo.

Furthermore, Elche, who make their debut against Huesca, are also confident of being in the fight, although in the Second Division the difference between glory and suffering is also very small. A League with many streaks, good and bad moments, from which some teams come out better than others. At the bottom, the fight is bitter and equally hard, because going down to the First RFEF is usually a bad path.

Malaga managed to return to Segunda immediately and will try to settle down or even continue looking up, with a blank slate right now. Nobody wants to be in the relegation zone, but rather be that surprise team that is in the fight and ends up sneaking into the promotion zone on the last day if necessary.

LaLiga Hypermotion hosts such as Burgos, Cartagena, Córdoba, Racing de Ferrol, Tenerife, Albacete and Mirandés. With 42 games ahead, there is excitement ahead of this weekend, but also work, in a league that has been rated as the most equal in all of Europe in recent years.
