LaLiga highlights its commitment to developing talent at the launch of the Golden Boy 2023

MADRID, 28 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga highlighted its firm commitment to talent this Wednesday at the official launch event of the 21st edition of the European Golden Boy Award in Italy, organized by Tuttosport, where he shared his vision of the development work for young promises through the Plan National Center for Quarry Improvement and Optimization, according to a statement.

In the act, the figures of LaLiga were highlighted as the competition that accumulates the most prizes (2005, 2012, 2021 and 2022), the one with the most players in the ‘Top20’, and with the highest market value, totaling 342, 5 million euros.

Thus, LaLiga, in its objective of maintaining and consolidating its commitment to the development of talent and young promises, shared its ideas and progress in relation to the National Plan for the Improvement and Optimization of Youth Academy, planned for 10 years and which is located in the framework of LaLiga Impulse.

Among its pillars, the Development and transfer to professional football stands out, an area with indicators to promote the initiative of clubs to bet on and promote football talent in Spain. With this, they intend to promote a more sustainable growth of football and a higher level of competitiveness and spectacularity in the competition.

The data shows that in just one year the objectives established in terms of homegrown players in national teams and in the first team have grown by around 20 percent. According to CIES figures, in the 2022-2023 season, homegrown players have played 17.2 percent of the minutes in the competition, compared to 12.4 in Ligue 1, 11.4 in the Premier, and much further behind the 7.9 in the Bundesliga or 5.6 in Serie A.

“The hyper-specialization of the professionals associated with grassroots football and the individualized development of the training process make the jump to professional football from the youth ranks more efficient and common for LaLiga clubs. Through this optimization and investment plan, the bases are laid for a future return in sports performance and value of professional squads”, highlighted the coordinator of LaLiga Sports Projects, Carlos Casal.
