MADRID, Jan. 17 (SportsFinding) –
The LaLiga Hope Cup quarry tournament, organized by LaLiga and its partner China Sports Futurity Investment (CSFI) in the Chinese city of Kunming, has received in Shanghai the 'Red Card Award' for the best quarry project last year ahead of other projects from Bayern Munich or Ajax from Amsterdam, LaLiga reports in a statement.
At an event organized by the Mailman agency, the director of LaLiga in China, Sergi Torrents, picked up the award on behalf of the Spanish competition and was satisfied by the recognition of his commitment to the development of Chinese football.
“This award is a reinforcement of the work carried out in China for years. From LaLiga we seek to create opportunities for our clubs through synergies and projects that also allow us to support the development of grassroots football in the country,” said Torrents.
In the current edition of the Red Card Awards, LaLiga not only won this award ahead of the projects of Bayern Munich, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Ajax of Amsterdam and the Wanda group, but it was a finalist of the best strategy with influencers for its campaign Unboxing
Other winners were FC Barcelona, as a number one club, followed by Real Madrid CF, in a digital presence in China; and LaLiga broadcaster in the country, iQiyi, best sponsor of last year. In addition, Valencia took the bronze in the category of best use of design.
LaLiga Hope Cup, which celebrated its first edition in August 2019 in the southwestern Chinese town of Kunming, measured the Under-16 teams of FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Espanyol de Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla and Deportivo Alavés, by the Spanish side , and Beijing Guoan, Guangzhou Evergrande, Beijing Renhe, Changchun Yatai, Hebei and Shanghai SIPG, by the Chinese championship.
The tournament, the first of its kind that LaLiga has organized in the Asian country, was born as part of the agreement reached with CSFI and the governments of Kunming and Anning County, which will also build a permanent LaLiga academy in the Asian country that is expected to start operating in 2021.
Both the LaLiga Football Academy Kunming creation and the LaLiga Hope Cup celebration are framed within the MOU signed by the parties in December 2018; a document that, among others, also includes the employer's commitment to bring LaLiga Santander clubs to China, bring LaLiga Legends matches to the country and favor the exchange between quarries in both countries.
