LaLiga and RFEF suspend all national ‘sine die’ competition

LaLiga and the Federation have just made the suspension of the competition official until the Government and Health decide, as reported by AS four days ago. Until now, only two days had been postponed, so it has been decided to extend the term once Pedro Sánchez has confirmed that the National Alarm State will be extended this week until April 11. The most optimistic date for the competition to return is April 23. In fact, it appears in the calendars proposed to UEFA. However, it is already working with the date of May 10 as the only real one.

The joint statement from RFEF and LaLiga is this:

“The Monitoring Committee provided for in the current RFEF-LaLiga Coordination Agreement AGREES the suspension of professional football competitions until the competent authorities of the Government of Spain and the General State Administration consider that they can be resumed and this does not pose any risk to health.

Both the RFEF and LaLiga want to show their greatest public gratitude to all those who are dedicating their best efforts to provide essential services to Spaniards And we also want to show our most sincere remembrance for all the deceased and a warm hug from the world of soccer for all the families who are losing loved ones. “

The RFEF extends the measure to non-professional categories

The Delegate Commission of the RFEF Assembly has approved this Monday, March 23, the suspension of all non-professional and state football competitions, both in the main modality and in the specialties of futsal and beach soccer, until the competent authorities of the Government of Spain and the General Administration of the State consider that they can be resumed when this does not pose any risk to the health of footballers, coaching staff and club employees and for the attending public.

At the same time, it has been agreed to request the Territorial Federations to adopt the same measure for regional competitions.
