La Vuelta 24 reveals its complete route this Tuesday in Madrid

Lisbon will be the official departure on August 17 and Madrid will be the arrival on September 8

Unipublic, organizer of the Vuelta a España, will reveal this Tuesday in Madrid the complete route of the 204th edition of the Spanish round, which will be held from August 17 to September 8, starting in Lisbon and finishing in Madrid.

The Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel will be the chosen setting starting at 8:00 p.m. so that all the details of a race that will celebrate its 79th edition and of which few details are officially known except its start, but which as it is usual will try to look for new places to discover and that the emotions are from beginning to end.

Thus, Lisbon will be the starting point of this Vuelta, which it will do for the second time in the history of the 'great', since it also did so in 1997. The end of the first stage will be in the town of Oeiras, while In the second stage, the platoon will depart from Cascais and, heading north, will head to the city of Ourém, and the third will take place between the cities of Lousã and Castelo Branco.

Lisbon was the first foreign city to host a start of La Vuelta, in the 1997 edition, the year in which the Portuguese capital hosted the first three stages of the competition. That historic edition concluded in Madrid with the victory of Alex Zulle.

This start will be the fifth from foreign territory in the 89-year history of the race. In addition to this, the round organized by Unipublic has started from the Dutch Assen (2009) and Utrecht (2022), and from the French Nimes (2017).(2022).
