The Women’s Soccer Team has landed this Monday in Madrid with its brand new cup and has been received with all honors. Accompanied by their coach Jorge Vilda, the girls have posed with the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, who has apologized after the rain of criticism generated by his controversial kiss with Jenni Hermoso during the medal ceremony in Sydney.
The fans wanted to forget about the controversy for a few hours to honor the champions and celebrate their historic feat. The team traveled through the center of the capital in an open-top bus until they reached Madrid Río, where a spectacular setting and thousands of admirers awaited them, including many friends and relatives of the players.

The champions have enjoyed their great night covering Olga Carmona at all times, who scored the winning goal for Spain minutes before learning of the sudden death of her father. Her death occurred before the game began, but the player’s family waited until the end to notify her because they did not want to influence her state of mind ahead of the final. The youngster has dedicated her triumph to her father: “And without knowing it I had my star before the game started. I know that you have given me the strength to achieve something unique.
