La Real, sanctioned with 602 euros for throwing objects at Ter Stegen’s goal

The RFEF Competition Committee has sanctioned Real Sociedad with a fine of 602 for throwing objects last night in the match against Fútbol Club Barcelona and which forced the Madrid referee Carlos del Cerro to have to notify the field delegate. Something that the referee also recorded in the minutes in this way: “Throwing objects: In the 47th minute, with the game stopped, an empty 5 cl glass bottle was thrown from the stands located behind the goal that in that moment defended the FC Barcelona. This object did not hit anyone and was removed and handed over to the field delegate, who was asked to announce the cessation of throwing objects onto the field of play by public address system. Once the statement was made, the game resumed without any subsequent incident.

The club does not deny the facts, although it has alleged before the disciplinary body itself that it proceeded to identify the person responsible for the pitches, that it adopted the corresponding preventive and reactive measures and, lastly, that there was no incident in the development of the meeting as a result of the incident. For the Committee, as stated in its resolution, “While all this is true, so is the reality of the fact that deserves the disciplinary reproach: the repetition of the bottle throws. This Competition Committee understands that this is in itself evidence that some of the prevention measures failed”

Hence, the Committee considers, in line with what was maintained by the club, that the alteration to the order of the match should be classified as slight, since, as the Committee points out in its allegations, it did not cause a noticeable disturbance. Therefore, it has proceeded to sanction the club Real Sociedad de Fútbol, SAD, with a fine of 602 euros. Sanction that can now be appealed to the Appeals Committee
