La Real defends its quarry work in Zubieta

The Real Sociedad has wanted to defend the work with the quarry that it carries out daily in Zubieta, which has always been considered the base of the club to nurture the first team with players. It has done defending the pride of being a youth squad of the txuri-urdin team with a video in which the current footballers trained in their lower categories express the feeling they feel towards their hometown club and what it means for them to play every weekend dressed in a blue and white jersey.

“La Real is my life,” says captain Asier Illarramendi, who has been at Real for 18 years. “It's everything,” reveals Joseba Zaldua, the other realist from the first team with the longest time at the San Sebastian club. And another of the captains of the first team has it clear, it is something that is carried inside. “It's a feeling,” says Aritz Elustondo. For Zubeldia La Real is like a “second home”, and for one of the last to reach the first team it means “fulfilling a dream that he had since he was little”, says Zubimendi.

But not only homegrown players born in Gipuzkoa speak. The Navarrese Aihen Muñoz points out that “La Real is everything because I grew up here and I feel at home”. And Robin Le Normand, who came to the club from France with Eric Olhats five years ago, is grateful to the Real. “It is the club that has given me the opportunity to fulfill a dream.”

They also remember the fans, a fundamental part of this club. “For me the Real is the pride of defending a hobby”, says Gorosabel. Luca Sangalli also speaks, who is the nephew of former player and former president Miguel Fuentes, so he remembers the different generations who defended Real. “It is a feeling that I have acquired from generation to generation.” Guevara defines it as “a family”, Merquelanz sees it as “the result of all the sacrifices”, Guridi feels “proud” to wear the realistic shirt, and the hand Roberto López “feels” passion “to play dressed for the Real. And the video ends with a lapidary phrase by Mikel Oyarzabal: “This is the personality of the Real”.
