‘Bronenosec Gazprom’ (TP52), ‘Aifos 500’ (ORC 0), ‘Nadir’ (ORC 1-2), ‘Lady’ (ORC 3), ‘Just the Job’ (ORC 4-5), ‘Azuree’ (ORC A2), ‘Mikaku’ (J80), ‘Gunter’ (Dragon), ‘Flying Disc’ (Flying Fifteen), ‘Marigan’ (Epoch) and ‘Legolas’ (Spirit of Tradition) are the class winners of the 17th edition of the PalmaVela, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Palma and which ended this Sunday after the three-day dispute.
In the TP52 class, the fleet went into the water with a triple tie on the podium at four points, starring the boat with the most Spaniards on board -‘Platoon’-, the Russian ‘Bronenosec’ and the ‘Quantum Racing’, winner of the Last edition.
In the last heat, the South African ‘Phoenix 11’ gave the bell, beating the Russians and the Dutch of the ‘Code-Zero’, a result that prompted Vladimir Liubomirov’s men to get their first victory aboard the ‘TP52’ in a regatta .
In addition, the ‘Aifos 500’ and the ‘Nadir’ premiered at the PalmaVela by winning the ORC 0 and ORC 1-2 classes, respectively. Both categories were also decided on the final day where the Spanish Navy boat won the two rounds to win, while the ‘Nadir’ also emerged victorious from the only regatta of the day to stay with the victory in the general.
In ORC 4-5, ‘Just the Job’ gave no option to its rivals, taking all the races contested to be the winner with the most advantage of the eleven classes, while the ‘Lady’ was awarded the ORC 3 class by a point of advantage, the ‘Marigan’ was made for the seventh time with the triumph of the ships of the class ‘Época’ and in the ‘Spirit of Tradition’ the victory went to ‘Legolas’ after prevailing in the two coasts.
Finally, in ORC A2, the winner was ‘Azuree’, favored in the tiebreaker on points with ‘Tres Mares’, same situation with ‘Gunter’ in ‘Dragon’, in J80 the victory was ‘Mikaku’, who was he imposed in both sets on Sunday, and in Flying Fifteen the victory went to the ‘Disco Volante’.
