La Guaira comes back and is classified

The Sports La Guaira showed its best attack this Thursday by beating 3-0 Colmenarez Brothers in the second leg of the first phase of the South American Cupin the Olympic stadium of the Central University of Venezuela, with which they managed to come back and go to the group stage.

Sergio Unrein opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a header from close range to the center of goal, assisted by Jovanny Bolívar with a headed pass from a corner kick.

Bolívar had the opportunity to extend the lead for La Guaira with a penalty, after a handball inside the area by Joel Cáceres, but he missed it when he shot with his right foot very close to the right post and it was slightly deflected. After a header near the right corner, Jiovany Ramos scored another goal for La Guaira in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, La Guaira continued to demonstrate its superiority by scoring another goal in the 54th minute with a shot with the left foot from the center of the area by Yohan Cumaná.

Although Hermanos Colmenárez won the first leg 2-0 and had several scoring chances today, they failed to turn the score around, so Deportivo La Guaira went through to the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.
