'La Fábrica' is in the Selection

A new list of Luis Enrique from the Spanish National Team… and a new list in which no Real Madrid player appears. The white fans will have to settle for the presence of four former players who will attend the meeting against Italy in Milan (Wednesday 6, 8:45 pm) belonging to the League of Nations. Pablo Sarabia, Marcos Alonso, Sergio Reguilón and Marcos Llorente are the four footballers who passed through Valdebebas and who have been summoned by the national coach for this match.

The first to wear the first team jersey was Marcos Alonso (Madrid, December 28, 1990). Son and grandson of an illustrious saga of Spanish soccer players: his father was Pichón Marcos, who played for Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona, while his grandfather was Marquitos, one of the pillars of Madrid in the decade of the 50 (played from 1954 to 1962). Despite being summoned on several previous occasions, Manuel Pellegrini, white coach during the 2009-10 campaign, made him debut with the first team in Santander, the place where his grandfather was born, and against Racing, the team where his father made his debut as a First Division footballer. A long-distance left back, he left Madrid (he only played that match in Cantabria) towards the Premier, where he played for Bolton, Sunderland. He is currently at Chelsea, after passing through Fiorentina, where he has been proclaimed champion of the Champions League.

Pablo Sarabia (Madrid, May 11, 1992) was the second of this quartet to debut with the Real Madrid first team. He did it hand in hand with José Mourinho and no less than in a Champions League match: on December 8, 2010, the Portuguese coach gave him the alternative against the French Auxerre. He replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in the 72nd minute of the match (he only played in that match), where he left details of his quality. His background was 29 games with Castilla, where he was a starter, either playing for either of the two bands or as a midfielder. Sarabia had come to the white club from the Madrid Oeste Football School in Boadilla del Monte in 2004, and would leave for Getafe in the 2011-12 campaign.

The third to wear white was Marcos Llorente (Madrid, January 30, 1995). Member of a saga of illustrious athletes who have played for the Whites, he made his debut in the 2015-16 season, in a match against Levante. He entered the field of play in the 77th minute, replacing Kovacic, and He would be a member of the Whites' first team until the 2018-19 season, in which he was transferred to Atlético de Madrid for around 40 million euros. With the first white team he participated in 39 games, with two goals scored.

The last to debut was Sergio Reguilón (Madrid, December 16, 1996). Left-back, like Marcos Alonso, made his debut in a Champions League match against CSKA in 2018. He spent one season, 2018-19, before being loaned to Sevilla (2019-20), and finally being transferred to Tottenham for an amount close to 30 million euros that summer of 2020. That Zidane did not want to have him was one of the keys to his departure to the Premier. In white he played in 22 games, leaving three assists.

There may even have been a fifth player: Álvaro Morata, but the Juventus forward's injury has prevented him from being called up. Luis Enrique has decided to have four former players with them in a key match: the semi-final of the League of Nations. Against Italy, current European champion and in Milan. Without Madridistas, but with four former White House players …
