Kyrgios will not play at Queen's and will be replaced by Feliciano López

Nick Kyrgios will not play in the Queen's tournament, one of the last grass tests before Wimbledon. The Australian tennis player has revealed in recent days that he suffers from neck discomfort and that, for that reason, he will not play from June 14 to 20 in the London tournament.

Kyrgios himself announced his injury through social networks with this message on his Instagram account. “My tennis family. I am sorry to tell you that my return to competition has been delayed because I have an uncomfortable pain in my neck right now. I am trying to get over it but since I cannot serve 100%, I will only return when I feel like I can have a full impact on the circuit. Keep in touch”.

The Queen's tournament is the only tournament that has confirmed the loss of Kyrgios, who also He is scheduled to compete at the Mallorca Championships (June 19-26) before playing at Wimbledon (June 28 – July 11).

Feliciano to replace Kyrgios at Queen's

The organization of the Queen's Cinch Championships has not been slow to look for a substitute for guarantees after the absence of Kyrgios and this Wednesday he confirmed the entry into the list of registered Feliciano López.

The Queen's tournament is a very special appointment for the Spanish tennis player, who was the last champion of the tournament in the 2019 edition (in 2020 it was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic). “Double Queen's Champion Feliciano Lópes has been inducted into the Cinch Championships next week. We love him. And the last time he played for Queen's Club this happened …”, they wrote next to a photo of 'Feli' kissing the cup as the champion of the tournament.

Feliciano López is the last confirmed tennis player for the Queen's Cinch Championships, where tennis players of the stature of Matteo Berrettini, Diego Schwartzman, Denis Shapovalov, Jannik Sinner, Milos Raonic, the Spanish Albert Ramos and Alejandro Davidovich and the British Andy Murray, who has received an invitation from the tournament.
