Kroos: “I’m going to finish my career at Real Madrid”

MADRID, 15 February (dpa/EP)

The German midfielder Toni Kroos reiterated tonight his desire to end his sports career at Real Madrid, the club with which he would renew his current contract, although he does not know “exactly when”, ruling out signing for another team.

“I’m going to finish my career here (at Real Madrid). I just don’t know exactly when yet,” Kroos said in reference to the renewal in statements on the ‘Einfach mal Luppen’ podcast that he does with his brother Felix.

In the conversation, the midfielder pointed out that “there is still no definitive decision”, but rather a “tendency” towards this extension of his relationship with the Madrid club, where he would like to retire. In addition, he denied that the merengue team was pressing him to define his future as soon as possible.

Kroos, who signed for the white club in 2014 and whose contract expires on June 30 of this year, already acknowledged after lifting the Club World Cup on February 11 that he has not yet decided whether to renew, although he was “calm.” “I’m thinking about it. I won’t take many more months, but there’s still no decision. There’s a great relationship between me and the club and nobody does nonsense. I’m very calm,” he said.
